This is a kitchen lounge credenza that I designed to match a set of nesting tables and two existing antique chairs. The main construction was Cherry plywood and the trim and doors were made from solid Cherry. The door panels were a set of book-matched Sycamore. The client wanted the new piece of furniture to look old, as if it came from a basement. So after I finish sanded the piece and sprayed it with a few coats of polyurethane, I scratched and dinged the credenza with a chain and other objects. Then I used a bees wax and rotten-stone mixture to highlight the imperfections and give the piece an antique look.
