The client wanted an entertainment cabinet to hold their big screen television, all the components, their huge archive of VHS tapes and space for blankets and pillows. The main construction was from maple plywood and the doors and trim were made from clear Maple. The panels in the doors are a set of book-matched Sycamore. The side doors have a push-to-release mechanism. I steam bent the trim to complete the final look of the crown. The client wanted the cabinet to have a very antique look, so I mixed a combination of stains to achieve the dark wood and hand rubbed the entire cabinet with shellac and a few coats of bees wax.
